<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As part of their efforts in fostering robots in their future growth engines, South Korean tech giant, Samsung Electronics Co., is planning to release a human assistant robot called EX1 this 2023.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas early this year, the Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics officially released a statement regarding the company&#8217;s plans for the robot business and industry. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Robots are a new growth engine of Samsung Electronics. We plan to release a human assistant robot called EX1 within this year.&#8221;, says Han Jong-Hee.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.robotpetfriends.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/samsung-bu-yil-ex1-adli-hizmetci-robotunu-piyasaya-surecek159163_0-1024x576.jpeg" alt="Samsung Electronics To Release and Invest in Human Assistant Robot, EX1" class="wp-image-5471" srcset="https://www.robotpetfriends.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/samsung-bu-yil-ex1-adli-hizmetci-robotunu-piyasaya-surecek159163_0-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.robotpetfriends.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/samsung-bu-yil-ex1-adli-hizmetci-robotunu-piyasaya-surecek159163_0-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.robotpetfriends.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/samsung-bu-yil-ex1-adli-hizmetci-robotunu-piyasaya-surecek159163_0-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.robotpetfriends.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/samsung-bu-yil-ex1-adli-hizmetci-robotunu-piyasaya-surecek159163_0-290x162.jpeg 290w, https://www.robotpetfriends.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/samsung-bu-yil-ex1-adli-hizmetci-robotunu-piyasaya-surecek159163_0.jpeg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>
</div>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Samsung Electronics first started talking about its interest in the robot business as one of its future growth engines back in 2021. The tech giant even went so far as to create a business task force dedicated to the said sector. Jay Y. Lee, the Executive Chairman of Samsung Electronics, even announced in 2021 their plan to invest 240 trillion won ($191 billion) in the next three years to further foster their robots and artificial intelligence business.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Fast forward to today, the company has sure been aggressive and has kept its promise in prioritizing its robot business sector by already investing 59 billion won in cooperative robot developer, <strong><a href="https://www.rainbow-robotics.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Rainbow Robotics</a></strong>. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Aside from this investment, Han Jong-Hee also told reporters that Samsung Electronics is inclined to mergers and acquisitions. However, there seem to be delays in this area given the Russia-Ukraine war, the lockdown in China, and the U.S.-China conflict.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Nonetheless, Samsung Electronics is definitely one of the biggest tech giants that see the robot business as a sector worth investing in and exploring. The same can be said by another South Korean tech business, Naver, which tested &#8220;<strong><a href="https://www.robotpetfriends.com/naver-to-test-5g-brainless-robots-in-the-worlds-first-robot-friendly-building-in-south-korea/" data-type="URL" data-id="https://www.robotpetfriends.com/naver-to-test-5g-brainless-robots-in-the-worlds-first-robot-friendly-building-in-south-korea/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">5G Brainless Robots</a></strong>&#8221; in the world&#8217;s first robot-friendly building, and Korea Seven which is set to <strong><a href="https://www.robotpetfriends.com/korea-seven-to-market-delivery-robots-in-collaboration-with-robot-developer/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">market delivery robots</a></strong> publicly.</p>
