Robot Dog Busts a Move Wearing a Sparkly Costume for International Dance Day

Boston Dynamic’s Spot the Robot Dog is perhaps one of the most popular quadruped robots in the world today. The popularity of the robotic company’s robot dogs may have just skyrocketed further with the release of an entertaining yet amazing video of these quadrupeds busting out a move in honor of International Dance Day.

However, what caught the attention of many was the robot dog wearing a sparkly blue costume.

Just like how dancers would often wear shining, shimmering costumes with glitter, Spot the robot dog was dressed in a sparkly blue costume for extra pizzazz. “Sparkles is a custom costume designed just for Spot to explore the intersections of robotics, art, and entertainment,”, said Boston Dynamics.

While watching a robot dog dance is an innovative feat as it is, adding an extra layer of a dressed-up robot makes it even more astonishing.

Keep in mind, this is also not the first time Spot has busted out a move. These robot dogs from Boston Dynamics also previously danced on the red carpet for the ‘Transformers’ premiere in 2023. However, at the time, Spot was not wearing a costume since looking like a robot is exactly the theme.

Certainly, this is a glimpse of how robotics and arts can crossover. This may also be a glimpse of how people can customize their own robots by simply dressing them up.
